Our 2023 Point Score Awards and AGM will be taking place on the 3rd of February, at Worrigee Equestrian Common from 1730. See you there!

Measuring Day

At our upcoming competition, there will be a chance to get your horse officially measured. For this to go ahead, we need a minimum of twenty five horses to be measured on the day. For those intending in getting their horse measured, you will need:

  • To have your horse or pony in a bridle with a bit; and handled by someone 16 or over;

  • The horse or pony’s EA registration card or papers – and or any breed or identification papers for unregistered (EA) horses or ponies;

  • The horse or pony’s previous measuring card (if previously measured)

  • Practice to accustom your horse or pony to a measurer approaching (have someone walk up to him with a tall stick – calmly)

Official Competition

Come and join us at our first competition of the year!

We have finally made it to the other side of Covid, and are organising our first official event in almost two years!

Due to the weather last year, we are holding all tests, for this event, on grass arenas - as the sand arena has become un-rideable and will have to undergo some refurbishment before it can be used again.

Casual Christmas Ride

Casual Christmas Ride

Come and join us for our last get together for the year of 2022 🥳

The committee has made the decision to run a casual Christmas ride on the 10th of December, instead of the unofficial competition that was supposed to take place on the fourth. We have opted to have a celebratory ride together, instead of holding a competition, to properly say ‘good riddance’ to this year.

Everyone is welcome, whether or not you are a member of Shoalhaven Dressage Club, so we hope to see you there - familiar faces and new 😁

We can’t wait to get back into the full swing of things in the New Year! 🎉

SDC Demonstration Day

Pack your camp chair and come enjoy five educational demonstrations, performed by experienced professionals located in the Shoalhaven area.

Our Demonstrators Are:

  • Andrew Harris - Demonstrating the anatomy of the leg/hoof and looking into abscesses.

  • Alycia Targa - How to maximise your marks in Preliminary and Novice competition.

  • Jim Collins - Floating demonstration and young horse handling.

  • Mitchell Brown - Understanding a horses anatomy, while looking into nerve blocks and X-rays.

  • Pamela Bice - How to get the most out of lunging your horse.

Member’s Pizza Night

Member’s Pizza Night

After a run of bad luck with the weather this year, we invite everyone to spend an evening catching up with us over pizza and drinks! 🥂

Shoalhaven Heads Bowling Club has a large outdoor area, with plenty of grass for the kids to run around on, as well as a fire to keep the adults warm.

To make up for all the events we have missed this year, the pizza will be on us!

So if you enjoy free food (we all know it makes it taste better) and a good chat, come and join us. Can’t wait to see you there 😊
